GENERAL UNIT DESCRIPTION
Follow all education-related data and data entry works related to the PIN-supported schools’ data and ensure export to the main database, trackers and EMA application under the supervision of the data management officer.
Currently, PIN is using a developed excel database and trackers for the students and schools’ staff that the data management team is leading. EMA is a unique web-based application which will be piloted the coming schooling year with the support of the data management team; it is developed by People in Need in cooperation with external software developers with a vision to provide a tool for monitoring of education. It provides an open source and secure data platform for educational needs, such as storing information about schools, courses that are offered to students, students attendance in the class and also their grading.

• Technical Manager: Education Team leader
• Supervisor: Protection and Education Programme Manager
REPORTING TO: Data management officer, link to Education Team Leader

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES (RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS):
Managing the databases/tracker for the relevant education project and checking all entered data by daily basis to guarantee the data quality and make sure that data is clean and complete.
Making sure that all data is entered on schedule, and coordinating with the data officer to finalize the data based on the cleaning needs.
Providing the needed basic statistics to the education team according to the database/tracker which will be used by the education team to prepare the monthly activities update.
Regular visits/spot-check to the schools and learning centers to ensure that the received data is verified.
Ensure that database and trackers are updated, strengthened and repaired constantly under supervision of the data officer.
Provide continuous feedback and suggestions for improvement of database/trackers for being fully functional in NWS.
Cooperating with education team for any support or data collection such as ASER, SDQ, EGRA/EGMA test results.
Ensuring to share experiences, lessons learned and data-related good practices.
PRINCIPAL COMPETINCES REQUIRED:
Education & experience
• University degree in computing, data science or other relevant certification.
• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Fluency in Arabic and English (written & verbal) is required.
• Familiarity with the education-related data is desired.
Desirable skills:
● Analytical skills and creative problem-solving skills
● Good orientation in how software and operating systems work
● Excellent listening and questioning skills, combined with the ability to interact confidently with clients to establish what the problem is and explain the solution
● Ability to prioritize workload and work under deadlines
● Methodical, thorough and attentive to detail
● Interest in innovations and technical solutions in the humanitarian sector
